I love this filter for beauty work! Presents a soft overall glow and slight low con filmic feel.

Nice look!

Pretty cool look, very nise soft (but sharp) to it. As well as halo. Would lve an additional 1/2 and 1/4, cause its outspoken.

A “must-have” diff filter in your kit.

One of those must-have diffusion filters in your kit. I initially purchased one and after using it for a couple of days ordered a second (I usually shoot multi-cams on features). Used both in a film I shot a few months ago. Just the right amount of halation without it being too bloomy. I also liked the slightly warm bias the gold flecks produce. Very flattering on skin tones. This has replaced my go-to HBM 1/8 for several projects. Highly recommended.

A Lovely addition to any filter pack

Having gaffed a feature with this filter deployed full time, I decided to purchase one myself. This review will focus on anamorphic lens applications, as that seems to be the most popular option currently.

The Scarf Dust filter is more than glimmer glass, and more than black magic, and more than pro mist. There is another quality gold element to the subtle effects on skin tone. This filter combines some of the best effects from other filters together to make something rather special.

On skin, it gives a very subtle, lovely, smoothing effect, taking the edge off of more clinical modern lenses. With a lamp in the frame, it creates a very nice glow effect, coupled with the anamorphic aspects, it then becomes a stretched out halo or veiling flare.

Overall, this filter is a wonderful addition to any kit which will add warmth and interest to the frame.

Quality

It does add a nice golden glow. Lifts the shadows a half stop and adds a pleasant softness to skin. Not overpowering!

A little is enough. Scarf dust is subtle enough to make your image glow (especially skin) and give you your own special look. For me, filters with unique names always are the most fun to use!
